One Bead At A Time

I am wanting to start a new trend here on Etsy and I think its a great idea for us jewelry designers. I call it One Bead At A Time. Anyone who is interested has until Sept.5th to send in at least 1 bead from their collection be it any material shape or size. Lets see how long we can make a necklace from all the contributed beads.

After Sept.5th I will need some time to assemble the necklace then I will draw a name randomly from the sellers who took part in this event and the winner gets the necklace = ). All it will cost you is 1 bead, your business card, and the postage to my address which if you win you get so much more in return. I plan on making some runner up prizes whether it be a gift certificate or soap or something along those lines.

If you wish to participate please convo me and I will exchange info with you there.

My blog www.kapryecreations.blogspot.com/ will have a list of the participates in the contest when I start receiving messages. Please make sure you place a business card in with the bead as well.

Please note I plan on having some filler beads of my own in the event we don't get a big turn out so at least someone will still get a good sized necklace out of the deal.

My Polls

Please take a second and vote on the two polls I have going on the right side of the screen. This is the time where you the customer or fellow business owner can shed a little light my way. Thank you again for participating.

Getting ready for the holidays

So I am just as the title says getting my crafting materials ready for the late end holidays. Next year I hope to be able to do more for other events but X-Mas has always been the make it or break it part of the year. I plan on having more baskets with a variety of items inside. As well as some new soaps and jewelry. I have been pretty busy and haven't had a chance to blog here much. Between last month and this month I have had to carry my husband to the hospital four times. Given the fact he is only 30 and me 29, I just never thought we would be making these trips like we did. He has cluster headaches and they are cronic so we need to get with a head doctor and he will be put on drugs for the remainder of his life. For those that pray, please do we could use some good words put in for us. We don't have insurance and the payments for the bills are insane. He is still trying to find work with the IT Associates degree he recently received but places want experience but how can you get experience if no one gives you a chance? Well its clear I have rambled myself from crafting to my personal life. But if anything it just proves I am just as much human as the rest of ya. I hope your year was alot better then mine so far. I will be blogging more in the future I promise. Til then everyone stay safe.

Knitting away = )

So I am still on the knitting kick as you can see. I have had all this yarn laying around and am currently taking a break from crocheting. Its just something about using 2 needles instead of a hook that I like right now. Currently I have 75 items in my shop many listings with multiples in them so in a since there is more then 75 total. I think right now I can afford to take the time and effort in getting the science down. I am working on many items one of them being a blanket. This will be my first knit blanket I have made crocheted ones in the past. I have tried racking my brain with the knitting loom as well but just can't get the purl/knit technique. I have tried to do a ripple but it comes out more like bricks if you will then anything bumpy if any of my readers know something about the loom please feel free to shoot me a message and clue me in. The twist knit that is about the only technique I currently have down on the loom. From the waist to the length of the dress of this pup is made from the knitting loom the rest of the project was crocheted.

Gone Fishing

The task : catching fish

The Fight was long and hard but we finally reeled him in.

(please note you can not actually release the fish back into the wild, all parts are crocheted together for a life long bond. Made with 100% acrylic yarn, due to the US laws my logo label will be applied to the bottom of the rod I use iron on labels and sew them in for added security) Thank you again for your consideration.

If you are new to my blog and love the items listed feel free to contact me via www.kaprie.etsy.com and make a custom order. All custom orders require money upfront to safe guard my time as well as the item being made. If for any reason you wish to cancel in mid process your money will be refunded minus 20% of the selling price. My blood sweat and at times tears go into every item and I think its only fair as such.
